FIRST CAMERAS
I have taken photographs as a hobby for over 40 years. My first camera was a bellows medium format roll film camera (the sort you see in old black and white movies), which I bought in a jumble sale. Taking photographs was fun but the cost of medium format film and processing was too expensive for a schoolboy, so I bought a used Kodak Instamatic 100 from a friend.
35mm
When I was 16 I inherited a Voightlander Vito Automatic from my father, which was my first 35mm camera. After I graduated I bought a Pentax MX, which was a completely mechanical SLR, and which I complemented with a Tokina 25-50mm F4 zoom, a Pentax 75-150mm F4 zoom and a Vivitar 35-85mm F2.8 varifocal.
DIGITAL
My first digital camera was an Olympus C460Zoom del Sol, an excellent 4MP compact, still always kept in the back of the car. My first digital SLR was a Nikon D3100 with 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 and 55-200mm F4-5.6 zoom lenses. I soon upgraded the telephoto zoom to a 55-300mm F4.5-5.6 and earlier this year upgraded to a Nikon D3400.
