|England - Leicester - Watermead Country Park - Time to Reflect - February 2015|
I am half English, half Italian, married, with a son at university and live in Leicester, right in the centre of England.
I have taken photographs as a hobby for over 40 years. My first camera was a bellows medium format roll film camera (the sort you see in old black and white movies), which I bought in a jumble sale. Taking photographs was fun but the cost of medium format film and processing was too expensive for a schoolboy, so I bought a used Kodak Instamatic 100 from a friend.
When I was 16 I inherited a Voightlander Vito Automatic from my father, which was my first 35mm camera. After I graduated I bought a Pentax MX, which is a completely mechanical SLR, and which I complemented with a Tokina 25-50mm F4 zoom, a Pentax 75-150mm F4 zoom and a Vivitar 35-85mm F2.8 varifocal. The kit all still works but I now no longer use it.
My first digital camera was an Olympus C460Zoom del Sol, an excellent 4MP compact, still always kept in the back of the car. My current kit is a Nikon D3100 with 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 and 55-300mm F4.5-5.6 zoom lenses.
